Two Days of kinship at Niweskok's nənάtawipəna sàhtal, in collaboration with Coastal Mountains Land Trust (CMLT), wrapped up this week and we are grateful to all who attended and worked to make this happen for a 2nd year.
The weather couldn't have been more different from one day to the next: one hot, sunny day and the next a little misty and rainy. As we raked and rested, discussions developed around our relationship to the land, cultural fire management practices, and blueberry barren stewardship, fostering a deeper understanding and collective commitment to these essential areas of our food web.
This year as part of our commitment to cultural land restoration practices Niweskok supported fire management training for community members. Rematriation is supported by an interconnected web of our collective gifts, knowledge and sharing. As community members we are grateful to be part of this web.
Please tag us in your photos from the blueberry gathering, camping, and the drums if you like as we'd love to see them and post them on our socials too.
